An amazing second day here at the Numusic festival, where things could have gone horribly wrong.

The problem with building so much of your set around a laptop is that if it breaks, it's pretty tough to just go acoustic. Plus, if you have a fully interactive visual show featuring an entire band of replicants of yourself on the same laptop, then there could be good reason to panic. This was the dilemma facing New Mexico synth artist Alaska In Winter, however there was an IT expert at Tou Scene 2 how had the perfect solution - turn it of and on again - Bingo! Live emotive synth action commences!

Next up, FM Belfast had an entirely different, but alarming laptop disaster - 2 songs in over-enthusiastic dancing lead to a Mac flying off the stage and onto the floor, bringing sudden silence to the room. Fortunately, after a brief trumpet and Cymbol interlude (new genre - Trumbol anyone?) everything worked.

Captain Credible is something of an eccentric. Ignoring previous computing problems, he set about pushing his (mostly self built) kit to the limit of its existence before taking a hammer to a laptop at the end of his set!

Today, we look forward to Filastine and Neil Landstrumm and i'm going to the harbour to try local delicacy Klippfisk. Mmmm.
