Still... the Carnival
Tuesday 23rd February 2010 | Posted by Márcio

It’s common saying in Brazil that the year just starts once Carnival is over. Photographer and pos counterculture enthusiast and photo composition wizard Fred Pellachin aka Turquoise Boy has returned to Brazil after six years living in the UK.

Fresh off the plane he deceided to do some digging into one of Brazil's most precious events: the carnival on the streets of Rio de Janeiro. We are not talking about samba schools here but the classic praxis of music, art and freedom late emprisoned in the Samba Schools gateways.

So the year starts for A Orquestra Voadora (The Flying Orchestra) that brings the carnival performance through with sets (also know as flights) combining old school samba, rock 'n' roll, classic grooves and Brazilian popular music.
