SKIF Festival
Shogun Kunitoki at SKIF
|
This week's show concentrates on a recent trip to St Petersburg and the incredible Sergey Kuryokhin International Festival (SKIF). Held in the memory of Sergey Kuryokhin the festival brings together the most unlikely combinations of music, performance and art. Now in its 13th edition, SKIF continues to be the largest celebration of experimental music in Russia. Alongside the offerings from SKIF, we have gathered together a selection of tracks from around the world that are sure to impress. As always we ask artists to provide some information to go along with the tracks they so kindly allow us to play. This week there appears to be something of a theme... Adrian Juarez from Argentina told us that he has to sleep with the television switched on because he suffers from acluophobia (yes, we had no idea either), while Meng Qi from Beijing gave us the following health insight "I am a nice cooker. Started out with Chinese soups after my gastric bleeding 4 years ago." Please feel free to send us your own constitutional updates, as well as comments, feedback and suggestions for places to go and music to listen to - we appreciate them all.
