After playing 'Horsebite' by Bagpipe Whiskey in GS018, we received a deluge of emails demanding more.
Ever eager to please we tracked down Bagpipe Whiskey, also known as Ben, and he suggested there would be no better time to record him than Halloween and no spookier place to record than an old cinema in Fishguard, South West Wales. So that's what we did.
Also in GS022 is the much anticipated report on the underground music scene in Iran. We hear from a collection of music makers and party goers about the recent evolution in Persian musical culture. Thanks to Chris Skinner for all of his hard work on this report and especially for convincing everyone involved to speak so openly about their musical adventures. You can listen to the report separetely here.
All of the music you hear in the piece is from Iran and the artists are as follows:
- O Hum - 'Darde Eshgh'
- Ashkan Kooshan - 'Dooset Daram'
- O Hum - 'Manbar'
- O Hum - 'Tehran'
- Ashkan Kooshan - 'Bargard Pishard Dobareh'
